Hillsong United, Empires Tour

This is the third time I've had the opportunity to worship at a Hillsong United Concert.  I love the atmosphere, the caliber of production, the hearts behind the ministry, and the freedom to worship Jesus. This night was even more special because it was the last night of the Empires Tour.

I didn't bring my camera, just my phone. I took 2 images and 3 clips.

Shot on my outdated iPhone 5s.

Josh Turner, Musician

Last weekend I had the privilege of capturing images of the extremely talented and kind Josh Turner!  I met Josh back in december when I photographed the Butler University "Out Of The Dawg House" men's a cappella group.

Josh is a passionate musician who has been featured in several local venues and has appeared on television.  During our shoot he was very kind, humble and even bashful in front of the camera.  The sample of images featured in this post reflect the quirky, folky vibe that Josh embodies!  Enjoy!

Ellie Glorioso-Wible, Cellist

It was great to hangout with my friends Ellie and Jordan!  The last time I saw them in person was at their wedding (Margaret and I were so privileged to document their day).

Ellie had asked me a few weeks ago to shoot some portraits of her with her cello.

Due to the cold weather we weren't able to shoot outside, so we improvised with some great indoor spaces at Butler University. It was a treat to hear her play and it was awesome having her husband Jordan assist me with lighting!

There are a couple distinct looks in this set which reflect both her physical expression and her emotions, all aligned with the pieces she played live during the shoot!

St. Louis Weekend

I got to spend some time with David and Daniel Alexander, as well as their parents and older brother.  I drove down to shoot a video project with David, for Southwest Airlines (more details coming soon).  We got to spend some time catching up, dreaming about ministry possibilities, as well as business ventures.  God has been faithful with keeping this dream of impacting the world through art, alive in us.

David got to tap-dance with an amazing singer/guitarist/songwriter, Javier Mendoza.  So I had some hummus with some veggies and watched the entire concert at a local coffee shop in St. Charles.

As the time passed, I mentioned to the guys that I kept having a desire to capture a story of an incredible person. I love to pre-visualize a lot of my work, both conceptually and aesthetically.  I described the angles, the sounds, even the colors... So we went to a bbq gathering and met some wonderful hosts; we had great conversations, then we met Brryan Jackson.  A young man, about 23 years old who just happened to be that incredible person with an unimaginable story of hope.  David, Daniel and I, looked at each other, amazed that God had placed us in the right spot at the right time.

So we decided to film a short concept-introduction video.  We had some minor setbacks with time and location (the city library security guards were hard to work with), but we managed to get enough footage and a brief introduction narrative.  I cannot wait to reveal this brief introduction.  We are praying that God will gather an entire team of collaborators to make this short film/documentary possible.  Also, my best wishes to Daniel, as he goes off to Hillsong College in Australia!!!

Check out some images from my weekend in St. Louis, and some stills from the Southwest video!
